Run your AI employees privately on Venice

Venice's pitch is privacy: open-weight models, prompts not stored. Bring your Venice key and Coordinator's agents run there — with one Venice quirk fixed for you automatically.

Free. No card. About two minutes to set up.

What you can delegate

A Venice-powered employee, not a chatbot

An agent here holds roles exactly like a person does, and its ceiling is its roles' ceiling: whatever someone with those roles could do in Coordinator, you can hand over. Venice decides how well the work gets done — not how far it reaches.

  • Work a queue — claim the next item, do it, hand off
  • Run the check-in round-up and keep stages honest
Time & billing
  • Log time as it works
  • Sweep unbilled hours into a draft invoice
  • Keep the time ledger clean enough to bill from
Records & forms
  • Triage form submissions into records and the right pipeline
  • Keep client records current as work happens
  • Find anything — records, contacts, history — on request
Scheduling
  • Prep today's meetings from the calendar
  • Tend booking-link intake and meeting polls
  • Keep resources and rooms straight
Chat & threads
  • Draft replies, follow-ups and summaries inside your team's threads
  • Announce what needs announcing
  • Turn a meeting thread into the follow-up tasks
The short list it can never do

Hold the Owner role. Message outside your organization before you deliberately climb the outbound ladder. Appear human in the audit trail — agent work is labeled agent work, always. Keep going after you hit pause. Everything else opens closed and is yours to grant, role by role.

Why Venice

What Venice itself brings

Any provider on this site can power the delegation above. These are the reasons to pick Venice in particular.

  • Privacy as the product decisionIf your agents read client documents and you want a provider whose documented posture is 'prompt content is not stored', Venice is that choice — a genuinely different decision from an OpenAI account, made at the infrastructure level.
  • Open weights first — frontier routedThe open-weight catalogue is the core and the value; Venice now also routes the frontier labs' models under its privacy modes, at a markup over going direct — a fair trade when the privacy posture is the point.
  • Deprecation with mannersVenice publishes an actual deprecation policy — 30 to 60 days notice, API warnings, email to recent callers — which is more courtesy than several bigger vendors manage.
  • Models

    Qwen 3.8 Maxmost capable

$2.50/$7.50 per million tokens, million-token context, vision — the top of the open-weight catalogue

    DeepSeek V4 Proworkhorse

    around $1.65/$3.30 — strong open-weight generalist at open-weight prices

    GLM 5.3text workhorse

    $1.75/$5.50, million-token context

Venice now also routes Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok under its privacy modes — at a markup over first-party rates, so if one vendor is all you need, going direct is cheaper

    What developers say · September 2, 2026

Venice's API, as its users describe it

Recurring themes from public developer forums and reviews — the likes and the complaints — and how each plays out when the provider runs inside your own workspace.

    What they like
    • The privacy architecture is documented, not vibes: prompt and response content is not retained after the request completes, and conversation history lives client-side.
    • Open-weight models without hidden filters, plus a published deprecation policy — 30 to 60 days notice with API warnings before a model is retired.
    • An unusual access model people genuinely like: staking the VVV token yields a daily inference allowance instead of per-request billing.
What they complain about — and how it plays here

The top community theme isn't privacy — it's that open-weight catalogue quality trails the frontier labs for the hardest work.

Here: You don't have to pick one brain for everything. Run the privacy-sensitive agent on Venice and the judgement-heavy one on a frontier model — per-agent model choice is the whole point of the orchestration being provider-agnostic.

'Prompts not stored' is narrower than it sounds: account IDs, timestamps, token counts and IPs are still logged, and in Venice's 'Anonymous' mode the upstream compute provider does see plaintext — the stronger guarantees are its Private, TEE and E2EE modes.

Here: We'd rather tell you this here than let a headline carry it. Read Venice's privacy-mode table before routing client documents, and pick the mode that matches the stakes.

Credit mechanics bite: monthly credits expire unused, and API access needs a paid footing.

Here: Our in-product setup help says it plainly — a key on a free account authenticates and then fails on every call. Coordinator's connect-time ping surfaces that before an agent trips on it mid-task.

    Ours to get right

How Coordinator treats your Venice key

The section above is Venice's report card. This one is ours — the plumbing decisions that make handing an agent your API key boring instead of brave.

    Stored encrypted, shown as last-four

Your key is encrypted like every credential in Coordinator, and after connecting, nothing ever displays more than its last four characters.

    Proven before it's stored

Connecting is a live round-trip to Venice — a key that doesn't actually work can't be saved, so failures happen in settings, not mid-task.

Billed by Venice, never by us

Zero markup, no metering, no shared key anywhere in the system. Every agent turn bills your own account at the vendor's own prices.

    We strip Venice's injected prompt

Venice prepends its own system prompt to every conversation unless told not to — fine for their consumer app, wrong when an agent reads your vendor bills. Coordinator disables it on every call automatically, so a foreign prompt never colours an extraction.

    Getting started

From no key to a working agent in a few minutes

Create a key at venice.ai → Settings → API, then make sure the account has API credit. One key reaches every model Venice carries.

    First, at venice.ai
    1. 1

Sign in at venice.ai (email or wallet).

    2. 2

Open Settings → API and choose Generate API key.

    3. 3

Name it something you'll recognise later, e.g. Coordinator.

    4. 4

Copy the key immediately — it is shown once.

    5. 5

API access needs a paid footing: a Pro subscription includes a daily inference allowance, or buy API credit (USD or their VCU units) for metered use. A key on a free account authenticates and then fails on every call.

Then, in Coordinator — the actual screens

    Validate & save

Key verified — a live call to Venice confirmed it before anything was stored. Only the last four characters are kept visible.

Settings → AI: pick Venice, paste the key. A live call to Venice verifies it before anything is stored.

Fetched live from your key — never a stale list. Custom model ids work too.

Choose a default model from your key's live catalogue — or set one per agent later.

    What it costs

Billed per token against your own Venice account. The vision-capable Qwen models read a one-page bill for a fraction of a US cent; the frontier tiers cost several times more. The model picker shows Venice's published per-million-token input price next to every model.

    Watch out

PRIVACY IS THE PITCH, WITH ONE CAVEAT: Venice states prompts and responses are not stored on their servers — but treat any third party in the path as part of your data boundary and read their current privacy terms before sending real customer documents. Also: Venice normally injects its own system prompt into every conversation; Coordinator disables that on every call (venice_parameters.include_venice_system_prompt = false), so extractions and agents answer from YOUR instructions only. Images only here — a PDF bill will not extract on Venice; connect Anthropic or Gemini for PDFs.

    Verify the privacy claims yourself

'Prompts not stored' is Venice's published posture, not ours to guarantee — read their current privacy policy before routing sensitive client work through any provider.

    FAQ

    Venice + Coordinator, asked directly

Why would I pick Venice over the big labs?

Privacy posture and price. Venice serves open-weight models with a prompts-not-stored pitch — a fit when agents handle documents you'd rather no lab retained.

    What's the Venice system-prompt issue?

Venice injects its own system prompt by default. Coordinator turns that off on every call it makes, so your agents' instructions are the only instructions.

Do I pay Coordinator for usage?

No. Coordinator is free; Venice bills your key directly.

Not sure Venice is the one?

Swap the brain, keep the team

Your agents aren't built out of Venice — they're built out of roles, permissions and workflows. The model behind an agent is a setting: change it in a minute and the team, the history and the fences all stay put. Every provider we support gets the same treatment, and the same honest page:

100% free — every feature, every seat

    Put Venice on the payroll
